What else can you think of that potatoe chips may be used for? All I know is to eat them with sandwiches and as a snack. I am doing research on this and just wanted to know what you thought. What I really want to know is the different uses for potatoe chips.

Last week at a Thai restaurant in Orlando, a dinner companion was served something called "Thai salad." It was topped with potato chips. In fact, what finally made it Thai, I think, is that the dressing was peanut sauce of the sort served with sate. She was on the Atkins diet and couldn't eat them.

The White Trash Cookbook includes a recipe for Potato Chip Sandwich. If I recall, spread mayo on white bread and top with chips. Anyone actually eat these?

Eat them *in* a sandwich. Two slices of buttered white bread. Pile chips on the bottom slice, put the top slice over this, and press down- crunch, crackle!

Uses for potato crisps:
Potato nachos.
A side dish with dinner.
Crumble them up as a topping for spicy mince.
A good garnish for spag bol.
Probably go very well with spud mash, sauerkraut and knackwurst.

Potato chips are an essential topping for tuna noodle hotdish!
Cook yer wide noodles, add a can of tuna and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Place this mixture in a casserole dish, top with crushed potato chips, and bake at 350 for about a half hour. Peas optional.

Prepare and cook cheeseburgers. Grill two slices of bread. Place cheeseburgers on bread, top with catsup then potato chips and cover with other slice of grilled bread. Great! Chips are good inside any burger/bun also.

Tuna Casserole. Not as a topping, but as the casserole base.
I had a roommate (Milicent of the salt in the sugar canister tale in the "My Most Horrendous Cooking Mistake" thread) who made tuna casserole with potato chips instead of noodles. The first time she made it I thought that she was quite ingenious to think of potato chips for a noodle substitute. Sometime later I made a tuna casserole and used noodles. Milicent thought that I was quite clever to have thought to substitute noodles for potato chips. It seems that she didn't know how to make it any other way; she had never had it any other way.
Actually, potato chips work very well. You certainly don't have to add salt.

Somewhere in my recipe piles I have a recipe for scalloped potato chips. They are very good. I just looked in the usual places but can't find it. When (or if) I do find it I'll post it.

Someone a few days ago was asking about different things to do with potato chips.

Potato Chip Chicken
Serves 4
Medium package - Potato chips, plain or your favorite flavor
4 - Chicken breasts halves, skinless and boned
1 stick - butter or margarine
1 tsp - Garlic powder (omit if you are not using "plain" chips)
Open package of chips and crush, transfer to a plate or flat surface.
Melt 1 stick butter in skillet and add garlic powder.
Dip chicken in butter and garlic mixture.
Next press chicken in crushed chips on both sides.
Place the chicken on a foil lined cookie sheet.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for approximately 30 to 35 minutes until cooked through.

This is easy and really tasty
CHICKEN a la LISA
1 cooked chicken, meat removed and diced
3 Tbs lemon juice
1 large onion, chopped
3 Tbs mayonnaise
1 tin Condensed Chicken Soup
salt & pepper to taste
plain potato crisps
Mix together all ingredients, except the crisps. Put into a casserole. Crush sufficient crisps to cover and scatter over the top. Cook in preheated oven 200 C (400 F) for about 30 minutes.
