Wash and scrub clean some nice Russet Potatoes then slice VERY thinly. Fry in hot peanut oil until desired browning is reached. Salt them to taste and you have the BEST potato chips ever.

You can also experiment by using Onion or Garlic salt as well as other herbs or spices, Paprika or Chili powder for instance.

Well, don't know if it's any good or not, but here's a recipe:

1 package or 1 tablespoon yeast
2 cups scalded milk, cooled
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
Enough flour to make the dough soft
Crisco for frying
1/2 cup margarine or oil
3 eggs, well beaten
1 cup mashed potatoes

Combine dough ingredients, making sure mashed potatoes are smooth before adding them. Let dough rise twice. Roll, shape, and let rise again for 30 minutes. Fry in Crisco.

Never tried the recipe, but it's from The Donut Book (Steinberg, 1987), so, umm, it's gotta be good....:)
