You mean like this?

BAKED MASHED POTATOES

6 c. or more mashed potatoes
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
small amount finely chopped onion

Beat cream cheese with potatoes. Add egg and onion; beat until mixed. Place in buttered casserole and bake in 350 degrees oven for about 45 minutes or until slightly golden brown on top.

I recently got this off the Keller's Butter (Plugra) site:

HOLIDAY MASHED POTATOES

8-10 potatoes, cooked and riced
8 oz. Keller's cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter (preferably Plugra)
1/4 cup chives, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
salt, pepper, paprika

Mash all ingredients together except paprika. Put in a 2-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with paprika and cover. Refrigerate 4 hours to overnight. Bring back to room temperature and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes covered, and for 15 minutes uncovered.

Well, just make some mashed potatoes, put them in a casserole and then bake them later.

Make a pretty pattern on the top with a fork, dot them with butter and sprinkle on a little paprika before putting them in the oven. Garnish with something green and leafy and they'll look quite elegant!

Here's a recipe for mashed potatoes that can be made ahead and baked just before serving.

CASSEROLE MASHED POTATOES

8-10 medium chef potatoes, boiled and smashed
8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
1/4 cup real butter (1/2 stick)
salt and pepper to taste

In a mixer bowl, combine potatoes, cream cheese and sour cream. Beat well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Turn potatoes into a casserole dish, and dot with butter. Bake at 350 45 min.
