Try the spelling potatoes au gratin. This should be easy to find via a
search or any basic cookbook.

Nah. There is such a thing as "potato chip Au Gratin". I used to
have a recipe for it but I discarded the recipe after making it.
It was intended as an experiment using an unusual recipe. It
developed into something less than desirable. One uses potato
chips/crisps instead of sliced potatoes. The recipe proceeded
much as usual for au gratin potatoes. It turned out sort of like
the boxed dehydrated au gratin potatoes which I also tried once.
