I have had a  potatoe cheese soup at marie callendars  restaurant.  I was
hoping someone knew of the recipie or one like it???  thanks!

                              Cheese Chowder

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
--------  ------------  --------------------------------
   1      cup           potatoes -- dice
   1 1/2  cups          sliced carrot
   1 1/2  cups          sliced celery
   1 1/2  cups          chopped onions
   4      tablespoons   butter
   3      cups          vegetable broth
                        white pepper -- to taste
   2      cups          skim milk
     1/2  cup           flour
   3      cups          cheddar cheese -- shredded
   1      tablespoon    fresh parsley -- chopped

  In pot cook potatoes, onion, celery and carrots in butter till tender.
Add broth and pepper.  Cover and simmer 30 min
  Blend together milk and flour.  Add to pot and stir to thicken.
  Add cheese and melt.  Add parsley.  Thicken and serve.

                          Potato Cheddar Chowder

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
--------  ------------  --------------------------------
  2                cup  water
     1/4           cup  chopped onion
  2                cup  diced potatoes
  1               tsp.  salt
     1/2           cup  diced carrots
     1/4          tsp.  pepper
     1/2           cup  diced celery
                        White Sauce:
     1/4           cup  butter
     1/4           cup  flour
  2                cup  milk
  2                cup  cheddar cheese -- grated
  1                cup  cubed ham


      Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper in
large
      kettle. Boil 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile in saucepan melt butter; add
      flour and stir until smooth, about 1 minute. Slowly add milk and cook
      until thickened. Add grated cheese to white sauce. Stir until melted.
      Add white sauce and ham to veggies. Heat
      through . Yield: 6 servings
